Viktor Balzer

Managing Director

is skinmade’s director and in charge of business development. As an industrial engineer he spent six years working for the Fraunhofer Institute doing research on the production process of personalised products. Apart from managing the strategies he makes working for skinmade fun and easy!

Dr. Lars Rüther

Managing Director

is an expert in molecular biology and the brand’s brain so to speak. He is responsible for the development of products and measurement systems as well as their interpretation and the translation of the results into skincare products. Working with dermatest as the director of the research department he is keeping his expertise at an excellent level.

Marjam Al Hakim

Sales Director

expert in nutrition and fitness, oversees sales & distribution and is part of the product development team. Her expertise in sales (Hugo Boss) and her endurance make her the perfect match for skinmade. Together with Dr. Lars Rüther she offers skin consultancy trainings.

Stella Daumenlang

Brand Manager

started her career as a hair and make-up artist after she passed her A-levels. Wanting to combine her passion for cosmetics with design she studied communication design and worked for the design studio "Korefe" for a few years. She loves American football – as in playing it – and her eyes sparkle when she talks about her large family. At skinmade she works as our shining brand manager and support on product development.

Marcel Barth


is a hands-on kind of guy. He works as head of production and technical developer. He guarantees optimum production conditions and always looks out for new technology.

Edith Schaich

Operation Manager

has a degree in engineering and is always smiling – she manages the daily business in the office as well as the product packaging. With love for the detail and a great sense of responsibility she is perfect for both her roles at skinmade.

Ekaterina Ottenbacher

Key-Account Manager

is key accounts manager and skinmade beauty consultant. As influencer she loves her Instagram account - as much as travelling. Apart from studying marketing & trade management she is into food and checking out new restaurants.

Paola Patiño

Social Media Manager

heats up the office with her fiery Columbian blood. She manages skinmade’s social media in terms of conception and realisation and monitors the beauty market to keep us posted on trends.

Svenja König

Frontend Developer

has the last word when it comes to skinmade’s corporate design since she is our expert on aesthetics. We are happy that she, as a graphic designer and information technologist, manages the technical and visual programming of our user interfaces.

In addition to that our vertical integration is high: we produce, research and develop in-house to guarantee our quality standards. While accompanying our customers on a journey of skin regeneration and enhancement we continuously improve and share our know how. Hence a good social cause has been important to the founders of skinmade: Viktor Balzer and Dr. Lars Rüther. People's (skin) needs are the centre of attention for both. Know how concerning dermatological skincare and knowledge about the beauty industry are the base of the corporation. The idea behind the brand is to acknowledge the skin as its own beauty & health expert. That’s why we listen to the skin using our reading systems on spot and translate the individual demands with the help of our artificial intelligence into fresh, personalised skincare products. skinmade is a spin-off of Fraunhofer Institute, Europe’s largest application-oriented research organization. The research efforts are geared entirely to people’s needs: health, security, communication, energy and the environment. As a result, the work undertaken by their researchers and developers has a significant impact on people’s lives. Viktor Balzer, the founder of skinmade worked as one of their researches at the Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation. It’s about creativity and shaping technology. The institute states: “we improve methods and techniques. We open up new vistas. In short, we forge the future.”
